Born in Katy, Texas and raised in the heart of bustling Downtown Houston, from a young age David Vasquez’s appreciation for light design started when he would visit Hermann Park as a child and gaze in awe at the many lights that would transform the reflection pool and its surrounding landscape into a magical wonderland at night.
While attending The University of Houston, David worked part time as a lighting technician for one of Houston’s most prominent nightclubs, and although he would go on to graduate with degrees in both finance and business operations, his admiration for creating unforgettable experiences through light design and spatial enhancement never went away.
So much so that after working in corporate finances for a couple of years post graduation, he decided to take the next step and bring the unforgettable lighting experiences he enjoyed his whole life to the people of Houston, the rest is history. David now owns and operates Outdoor Lighting Concepts of Houston full time.
Nowadays, you can still find David enjoying the many scenic parts of Houston that he did as a child. With a passion for outdoor activities, David spends his weekends playing golf (poorly) at Memorial Park, volleyball at Eleanor Tinsley, riding bikes through the Buffalo Bayou trails, or watching live music and shows at Houston’s scenic Discovery Green.
